COVID-19 pandemic is currently here to stay until we get 100% people to cooperation together as to eliminate it. But sadly, this seems to be an impossible task since we will never be able to get 100% cooperation from every single human in the world to see this objective. However, we should never be despaired as those of us who want to be safe and sound can continue to do our duties of preventive measures against getting the infection.
Today we watched the video by our founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew made in 2003 about the outbreak of SARS and how important it was for Singapore to face as one the health and economic crisis that Sars brought “regardless of race, language, or religion”. The founding Prime Minister had added: “We had people who broke the quarantine, but we had a cooperative population. It was a population that knew that survival was at stake and cooperated with each other and with the Government.” These were the most encouraging words that had embedded in our minds and we had great respect with what he had said.
Today as we are facing similar situation like SARS, therefore we have to have to give our cooperation to survival this ordeal. We sincerely hope each and everyone of us will remember what our founding father had said to us and we should all be bonded as one people to outcome all obstacles we are facing today! We should never allow this bad situation deter us from doing what is right for Singapore as we brave ourselves against this COVID-19 disaster. With the right effort and persistent, we will definitely be able to overcome this crisis.
In the midst of this crisis, we are indeed sad to read about bad things happening around the world as we are fighting against this virus. We sincerely pray that people will see each others as HUMAN and do the right thing for one another in current crisis. No matter what races or religions we are, basically we are plainly just human to one another and should never be treated differently. It is due to discrimination by some people which has caused problems worldwide and being indifferent result in chaos. Instead, people should just treat one another as human being. We pray that one day it will come for everyone to realize there is no difference between one human to another and it will be peace for the world.
Treat others like how you want them to treat you!
Yes! We all should be doing that! We remembered those younger days when we were living in kampongs and everyone knows each others and sharing food among ourselves. Those good old days where we did not even need to lock our doors as we lived harmoniously among us without fear of danger. We really miss those good old days! Guess it is hard to move backwards to those times but we still can maintain such good relationship as long as we all put in a little effort of caring for one another. It will be good for parents to teach their children these values and learn to appreciate one another as human.
It is sad that some of the newer generation of adults are not really understand how to properly discipline their children as allowing them to do what they please. Maybe they think it is better to allow the children to be free but frankly, we think it is better to have some rules and the do’s and don’ts for children as they are pure in thoughts. They do not really know what is right & wrong unless you guide them. Reward and punishment should be carried out justly so they know while growing up. It is not only the duty of the school teachers but also parents to guide the proper path in growing up. Guess nowadays some parents are better off and giving too much freedom to their children and not knowing they might be influenced by bad behaviors from other children.
This is so sad how some children are brought up without much caring and picking up bad behaviors from other children. Without proper guidance from their parents will soon go out of hands as they grow up. You will notice some of these cases while shopping where some children were simply left alone to run around wildly without supervision. This is very dangerous as you will never know what can happen with them doing that especially accidents. Remember that it is your children that will require much of your attention other than the school teachers trying their best to impart the right knowledge of behaviors and upbringing.
We all know one bad apple spoils the bunch!
We should never allow such thing to influence you! Looking at the COVID-19 crisis, every single person’s effort can help to prevent further spreading even though we can’t get 100% cooperation! Just do your part as you will be helping others to avoid being infected as well as yourself to be safe. We hope you will abide to the simple rules even though the Circuit Breaker had ended and we are now in Phase 1 for opening up businesses and schools. Be safe and have a lovely day ahead!
